STARTING TO WRITE FICTION

We believe that everyone has the ability to write and we are here to get you in the flow... our tutors will inspire the creative process and give you the tools to start or develop your talent. You will also consider the different aspects of character, place, plot, viewpoint and voice.
STARTING YOUR NOVEL

Have you started, would like to start or have an idea that would make a great novel? Then this is the course for you – we will get the cogs turning and work you hard to get all the pieces in place for you to begin. There will be time individual time with a published author who can give advice from their own experience and quite time can be spent writing in the Glencot grounds.
FICTION

Have you already written a short story or piece of prose or even started your novel? Then our tutors could help to take it forward into a longer piece or help the idea develop. You will cover aspects such as structure and plotting, aspects of character and dialogue through workshops, group discussion and one to one with tutors.
WRITING FOR CHILDREN
Course dates to be confirmed.
Have you always wanted to write a book for children, teenagers, or young adults? On this course we will cover all types from picture books to young adult novels. As will all the courses there will be practical writing exercises and individual tutorials will help you to get started and develop your story. You will also be asked to consider ways into the contemporary children's publishing market.
