Set in the beautiful Somerset countryside but within easy distance of Wells, Glencot is the perfect, quiet retreat for writers of all levels. The hotel has all the luxury of a great country house hotel but with the added bonus of a mobile phone free zone (you need to walk up the path to get reception!).

Courses do not rely on the use of a computer but we do have IT support, and our staff will do their best to fix any problems as soon as possible. You are welcome to bring your own laptop and there is free wifi in the drawing room and some bedrooms throughout most of the hotel.

Our residential writing courses run from Monday evening to Friday morning, with daily workshops over the three days, and a one-to-one tutorial with each tutor too. The work is intense and uplifting, and with no distractions you can dedicate yourself only to your writing. These three days of workshops and tutorials will be some of the most creative and special. You will stay in one of our beautiful rooms, writing and eating together with a group of up to 12 other writers.
